The cabins are just that, they're cabins. They aren't a luxury hotel but they aren't meant to be either. Some cabins maybe nicer than others but they are clean & have air conditioning. Great place for families & groups to get away. Nature, Fishing, a Splash Pad, Swimming & more available to do.
What this small state park lacks in size, it makes up for in ameneties! Picnic areas dotted throughout, swimming area with beach, canoe rentals, boat ramp, hiking trails, camping/RV with full hookups, lodge has exquisite food, cabins on the waterfront, jump and splash water park for the young'uns, fishing....OH THE FISHING! And don't forget the golf course on site. I'm forgetting some other great options of fun, I'm sure. Went with the in-laws in their 27' camper for Memorial Day Weekend and almost didn't go to work on Tuesday. Something there for everyone. I highly recommend visiting and staying for the weekend but if not feasible then you have to go for at least the day. Beautiful park. Thank you state of Georgia tax payers!
The lake is overran by a weed and is not assessable. The on park store is permanently closed. So if you need ice or anything, make sure you are stocked before coming out. There is limited sewage hook-ups. But the lots are nice and spacious.
The Campground sites are not very level. The shower houses need cleaned!! Stayed here 4 days and they were not cleaned at all. Someone emptied the trash but that was it. The insects are horrible!!! The lodge and golf course are very nice. It's ok if you can stand the insects..
So much fun. Nice hiking trail, lake with cheap canoe rentals. There's a splash pad and playground for the kids and a golf course for adults. They have a motel and great restaurant too. Camping is also available.
